Southwest Singletrack, LLC is a trail focused company founded by Alex Gibson, a passionate outdoorsman on a mission to help people experience nature through the improvement and construction of new trails. We believe trails are an essential resource that allow people to connect with nature in a way that fosters a love for our environment. Oh, and they're fun too!

Growing up riding BMX bikes and building jumps in the yard, after graduating from Pomona College, Alex made his way to San Francisco where he spent 11 years working as the service manager and tour guide for one of the best shops in the Bay Area, Big Swingin' Cycles. He volunteered with Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship as well as the San Francisco Urban Riders, where he learned sustainable trail building techniques. Southwest Singletrack draws from fifteen years of experience building trails in a variety of environments, which has allowed for the refinement of techniques and development of a fun and unique style.

Yearning for greater access to the outdoors, Alex made his way to the land of enchantment where he managed the service department at Mellow Velo for four years before shifting his focus to trail building. Striving to grow the mountain bike community and improve trail access, he is now the president of Santa Fe Fat Tire Society. Although northern New Mexico is already an amazing place for outdoor recreation it has the potential to be world class and we're excited to be a part of making that dream a reality.
